commit11189c1089upstream. The _DSM function number validation only happens to succeed when the generic Linux command number translation corresponds with a DSM-family-specific function number. This breaks NVDIMM-N implementations that correctly implement _LSR, _LSW, and _LSI, but do not happen to publish support for DSM function numbers 4, 5, and 6. Recall that the support for _LS{I,R,W} family of methods results in the DIMM being marked as supporting those command numbers at acpi_nfit_register_dimms() time. The DSM function mask is only used for ND_CMD_CALL support of non-NVDIMM_FAMILY_INTEL devices. Fixes:31eca76ba2("nfit, libnvdimm: limited/whitelisted dimm command...") Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
