[ Upstream commit6e6825801a] An I2S frame always has two slots (left and right) even when sending mono. The right channel (channel 2) of ASP TX will always have the same bit width as the left channel and will always be on the high phase of LRCLK. The previous implementation always passed the field masks for both channels to snd_soc_component_update_bits() but for mono the written value only contained the settings for channel 1. The result was that for mono channel 2 was set to 8-bit (which is an invalid configuration) with both channels on the low phase of LRCLK. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
