commitff7c76f66dupstream. When CONFIG_TARGET_CPU is specified then pass its value to the compiler -mcpu option. This fixes following build error when building kernel with powerpc e500 SPE capable cross compilers: BOOTAS arch/powerpc/boot/crt0.o powerpc-linux-gnuspe-gcc: error: unrecognized argument in option ‘-mcpu=powerpc’ powerpc-linux-gnuspe-gcc: note: valid arguments to ‘-mcpu=’ are: 8540 8548 native make[1]: *** [arch/powerpc/boot/Makefile:231: arch/powerpc/boot/crt0.o] Error 1 Similar change was already introduced for the main powerpc Makefile in commit446cda1b21("powerpc/32: Don't always pass -mcpu=powerpc to the compiler"). be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
