[ Upstream commitd12e1c4649] Setting DSA_MAX_PORTS caused DSA to call b53 callbacks (e.g. b53_disable_port() during dsa_register_switch()) for invalid (non-existent) ports. That made b53 modify unrelated registers and is one of reasons for a broken BCM5301x support. This problem exists for years but DSA_MAX_PORTS usage has changed few times. It seems the most accurate to reference commit dropping dsa_switch_alloc() in the Fixes tag. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
