Some io-pgtable implementations, and thus their users too, carry a slightly odd dependency to get around the GENERIC_ATOMIC64 version of cmpxchg64() often failing to compile. Since this is a functional dependency, it's a bit misleading and untidy to tie it explicitly to COMPILE_TEST while assuming that it's also implied by the other platform/architecture options. Make things clearer by separating these functional dependencies into distinct statements from those controlling visibility, and since they do look a bit non-obvious to the uninitiated, also commenting them for good measure. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
