[ Upstream commitd343679919] rtnl_fill_statsinfo() is filling skb with one mandatory if_stats_msg structure. nlmsg_put(skb, pid, seq, type, sizeof(struct if_stats_msg), flags); But if_nlmsg_stats_size() never considered the needed storage. This bug did not show up because alloc_skb(X) allocates skb with extra tailroom, because of added alignments. This could very well be changed in the future to have deterministic behavior. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
