commit8249d17d31upstream. The pfn variable contains the page frame number as returned by the pXX_pfn() functions, shifted to the right by PAGE_SHIFT to remove the page bits. After page protection computations are done to it, it gets shifted back to the physical address using page_level_shift(). That is wrong, of course, because that function determines the shift length based on the level of the page in the page table but in all the cases, it was shifted by PAGE_SHIFT before. Therefore, shift it back using PAGE_SHIFT to get the correct physical address. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
