Virtual engines are fleeting. They carry a reference count and may be freed when their last request is retired. This makes them unsuitable for the task of housing engine->retire.work so assert that it is not used. Tvrtko tracked down an instance where we did indeed violate this rule. In virtual_submit_request, we flush a completed request directly with __i915_request_submit and this causes us to queue that request on the veng's breadcrumb list and signal it. Leading us down a path where we should not attach the retire. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
