When processing a SMB2 QUERY_DIRECTORY request, smb2_populate_readdir_entry() is called first to fill the dot/dotdot entries. This moves the d_info->wptr pointer but out_buf_len remains unchanged. As a result, reserve_populate_dentry() may end up writing past the end of the buffer since the bounds checking is done on invalid values. ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
