[ Upstream commitfe867cac9e] mlx5e_ethtool_set_channels updates the indirection table before switching to the new channels. If the switch fails, the indirection table is new, but the channels are old, which is wrong. Fix it by using the preactivate hook of mlx5e_safe_switch_channels to update the indirection table at the stage when nothing can fail anymore. As the code that updates the indirection table is now encapsulated into a new function, use that function in the attach flow when the driver has to reduce the number of channels, and prepare the code for the next commit. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
