[ Upstream commitce0cb93a5a] The variable bit_per_pix is a u8 and is promoted in the multiplication to an int type and then sign extended to a u64. If the result of the int multiplication is greater than 0x7fffffff then the upper 32 bits will be set to 1 as a result of the sign extension. Avoid this by casting tu_size_reg to u64 to avoid sign extension and also a potential overflow. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
