commit161a582bd1upstream. clang static analysis reports this problem mos7720.c:352:2: warning: Undefined or garbage value returned to caller return d; ^~~~~~~~ In the parport_mos7715_read_data()'s call to read_mos_reg(), 'd' is only set after the alloc block. buf = kmalloc(1, GFP_KERNEL); if (!buf) return -ENOMEM; Although the problem is reported in parport_most7715_read_data(), none of the callee's of read_mos_reg() check the return status. Make sure to clear the return-value buffer also on allocation failures. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
