commitad15006cc7upstream. This causes an issue when trying to build with `make LD=ld.lld` if ld.lld and the rest of your cross tools aren't in the same directory (ex. /usr/local/bin) (as is the case for Android's build system), as the GCC_TOOLCHAIN_DIR then gets set based on `which $(LD)` which will point where LLVM tools are, not GCC/binutils tools are located. Instead, select the GCC_TOOLCHAIN_DIR based on another tool provided by binutils for which LLVM does not provide a substitute for, such as elfedit. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
