When user resize all trace ring buffer through file 'buffer_size_kb', then in ring_buffer_resize(), kernel allocates buffer pages for each cpu in a loop. If the kernel preemption model is PREEMPT_NONE and there are many cpus and there are many buffer pages to be allocated, it may not give up cpu for a long time and finally cause a softlockup. To avoid it, call cond_resched() after each cpu buffer allocation. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
