commitd15dfd3138upstream. In a system supporting MTE, the linear map must allow reading/writing allocation tags by setting the memory type as Normal Tagged. Currently, this is only handled for memory present at boot. Hotplugged memory uses Normal non-Tagged memory. Introduce pgprot_mhp() for hotplugged memory and use it in add_memory_resource(). The arm64 code maps pgprot_mhp() to pgprot_tagged(). Note that ZONE_DEVICE memory should not be mapped as Tagged and therefore setting the memory type in arch_add_memory() is not feasible. be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
