The ipmi communication is not restored after a specific version of BMC is
upgraded on our server.
The ipmi driver does not respond after printing the following log:
ipmi_ssif: Invalid response getting flags: 1c 1
I found that after entering this branch, ssif_info->ssif_state always
holds SSIF_GETTING_FLAGS and never return to IDLE.
As a result, the driver cannot be loaded, because the driver status is
checked during the unload process and must be IDLE in shutdown_ssif():

The process trigger this problem is:
1. One msg timeout and next msg start send, and call
ssif_set_need_watch().
2. ssif_set_need_watch()->watch_timeout()->start_flag_fetch() change
ssif_state to SSIF_GETTING_FLAGS.
3. In msg_done_handler() ssif_state == SSIF_GETTING_FLAGS, if an error
message is received, the second branch does not modify the ssif_state.
4. All retry action need IS_SSIF_IDLE() == True. Include retry action in
watch_timeout(), msg_done_handler(). Sending msg does not work either.
SSIF_IDLE is also checked in start_next_msg().
5. The only thing that can be triggered in the SSIF driver is
watch_timeout(), after destory_user(), this timer will stop too.
So, if enter this branch, the ssif_state will remain SSIF_GETTING_FLAGS
and can't send msg, no timer started, can't unload.
We did a comparative test before and after adding this patch, and the
result is effective.

Qualcomm pinctrl Devicetree bindings changes for v6.4
Cleanup and improvement of the bindings to use "unevaluatedProperties"
instead of "additionalProperties", which allows to accept all the
properties already parsed by referenced common qcom,tlmm-common.yaml
schema.
That common qcom,tlmm-common.yaml binding is going to remove
"input-enable" property, thus using "unevaluatedProperties" allows such
change to propagate to other bindings automatically.

devm_platform_ioremap_resource(). devm_platform_ioremap_resource()
is a specialized function for platform devices.
It allows 'base' to be automatically released whether the probe
function succeeds or fails.
Besides, use IS_ERR(base) instead of !base
as the return value of devm_platform_ioremap_resource()
can either be a pointer to the remapped memory or
an ERR_PTR() encoded error code if the operation fails.

We have SOF and generic ACP support enabled for Rembrandt and
pheonix platforms on some machines. Since we have same PCI id
used for probing, add check for machine configuration flag to
avoid conflict with newer pci drivers. Such machine flag has
been initialized via dmi match on few Chrome machines. If no
flag is specified probe and register older platform device.

Smatch complains that missing unwind goto in tas5720_codec_probe.
When tas5720 has an invalid devtype, it is expected to invoke

In the case where multiple peripherals are attached on the same link,
it's possible that they are in different pm_runtime states.
The device_for_each_child() loop to resume all devices before a system
suspend would not work if one peripheral was active and others
suspended. pm_runtime_resume() returns 1 in the former case, which is
taken as a error. As a result, a pm_runtime suspended device might be
skipped if the first device was active.
This patch changes the behavior of the helper function to only return
zero or a negative error. A Fixes tag is not provided since there are
no existing configurations on Intel platforms with different types of
devices on the same link. Amplifiers may be used on the same link, but
they are used by the same dailink so their pm_runtime state is always
matching. This assumption may not be true in the future, so we should
improve the behavior and align with AMD.

This reverts commit
443a98e649 ("soundwire: bus: use pm_runtime_resume_and_get()")
Change calls to pm_runtime_resume_and_get() back to pm_runtime_get_sync().
This fixes a usage count underrun caused by doing a pm_runtime_put() even
though pm_runtime_resume_and_get() returned an error.
The three affected functions ignore -EACCES error from trying to get
pm_runtime, and carry on, including a put at the end of the function.
But pm_runtime_resume_and_get() does not increment the usage count if it
returns an error. So in the -EACCES case you must not call
pm_runtime_put().
The documentation for pm_runtime_get_sync() says:
"Consider using pm_runtime_resume_and_get() ... as this is likely to
result in cleaner code."
In this case I don't think it results in cleaner code because the
pm_runtime_put() at the end of the function would have to be conditional on
the return value from pm_runtime_resume_and_get() at the top of the
function.
pm_runtime_get_sync() doesn't have this problem because it always
increments the count, so always needs a put. The code can just flow through
and do the pm_runtime_put() unconditionally.

The existing code copies the hw_params pointer and reuses it later in
.prepare, specifically to re-initialize the ALH DMA channel
information that's lost in suspend-resume cycles.
This is not needed, we can directly access the information from the
substream/rtd - as done for the HDAudio DAIs in
sound/soc/sof/intel/hda-dai.c
In addition, using the saved pointer causes the suspend-resume test
cases to fail on specific platforms, depending on which version of GCC
is used. Péter Ujfalusi and I have spent long hours to root-cause this
problem that was reported by the Intel CI first with 6.2-rc1 and again
v6.3-rc1. In the latter case we were lucky that the problem was 100%
reproducible on local test devices, and found out that adding a
dev_dbg() or adding a call to usleep_range() just before accessing the
saved pointer "fixed" the issue. With errors appearing just by
changing the compiler version or minor changes in the code generated,
clearly we have a memory management Heisenbug.
The root-cause seems to be that the hw_params pointer is not
persistent. The soc-pcm code allocates the hw_params structure on the
stack, and passes it to the BE dailink hw_params and DAIs
hw_params. Saving such a pointer and reusing it later during the
.prepare stage cannot possibly work reliably, it's broken-by-design
since v5.10. It's astonishing that the problem was not seen earlier.
This simple fix will have to be back-ported to -stable, due to changes
to avoid the use of the get/set_dmadata routines this patch will only
apply on kernels older than v6.1.

Firmwares advertising the support of triggering 11d algorithm on the
scan results of a regular scan expects driver to send
WMI_11D_SCAN_START_CMDID before sending WMI_START_SCAN_CMDID.
Triggering 11d algorithm on the scan results of a normal scan helps
in completely avoiding a separate 11d scan for determining regdomain.
This indirectly helps in speeding up connections on station
interfaces on the chipsets supporting 11D scan.
To enable this feature, send WMI_11D_SCAN_START_CMDID just before
sending WMI_START_SCAN_CMDID if the firmware advertises
WMI_TLV_SERVICE_SUPPORT_11D_FOR_HOST_SCAN service flag.
WCN6750 & WCN6855 supports this feature.

While initializing spectral, the magic value is getting written to the
invalid memory address leading to random boot-up crash. This occurs
due to the incorrect index increment in ath11k_dbring_fill_magic_value
function. Fix it by replacing the existing logic with memset32 to ensure
there is no invalid memory access.

Currently issuing a sdw_nread/nwrite_no_pm across a page boundary
will silently fail to write correctly as nothing updates the page
registers, meaning the same page of the chip will get rewritten
with each successive page of data.
As the sdw_msg structure contains page information it seems
reasonable that a single sdw_msg should always be within one
page. It is also mostly simpler to handle the paging at the
bus level rather than each master having to handle it in their
xfer_msg callback.
As such add handling to the bus code to split up a transfer into
multiple sdw_msg's when they go across page boundaries.

Replace the call to sdw_ch_mask_to_ch() with a call to hweight32().
sdw_ch_mask_to_ch() is counting the number of set bits. The hweight()
family of functions already do this, and they have an advantage of
using a bit-counting instruction if it is available on the target CPU.
This also fixes a potential infinite loop bug in the implementation of
sdw_ch_mask_to_ch().

There are two issues related to the number of ports coming from
Devicetree when exceeding in total QCOM_SDW_MAX_PORTS. Both lead to
incorrect memory accesses:
1. With DTS having too big value of input or output ports, the driver,
when copying port parameters from local/stack arrays into 'pconfig'
array in 'struct qcom_swrm_ctrl', will iterate over their sizes.
2. If DTS also has too many parameters for these ports (e.g.
qcom,ports-sinterval-low), the driver will overflow buffers on the
stack when reading these properties from DTS.
Add a sanity check so incorrect DTS will not cause kernel memory
corruption.

The WMI management rx event has multiple arrays of TLVs, however the common
WMI TLV parser won't handle multiple TLV tags of same type.
So the multiple array tags of WMI management rx TLV is parsed incorrectly
and the length calculated becomes wrong when the target sends multiple
array tags.
Add separate TLV parser to handle multiple arrays for WMI management rx
TLV. This fixes invalid length issue when the target sends multiple array
tags.

In QCN9074, station dump signal values display default value which
is -95 dbm, since there is firmware header change for HAL_RX_MPDU_START
between QCN9074 and IPQ8074 which cause wrong peer_id fetch from msdu.
Fix this by updating hal_rx_mpdu_info with corresponding QCN9074 tlv
format.

Currently, time taken to scan all supported channels on WCN6750
is ~8 seconds and connection time is almost 10 seconds. WCN6750
supports three Wi-Fi bands (i.e., 2.4/5/6 GHz) and the numbers of
channels for scan come around ~100 channels (default case).
Since the chip doesn't have support for DBS (Dual Band Simultaneous),
scans cannot be parallelized resulting in longer scan times.
Among the 100 odd channels, ~60 channels are in 6 GHz band. Therefore,
optimizing the scan for 6 GHz channels will bring down the overall
scan time.
WCN6750 firmware has support to scan a 6 GHz channel based on co-located
AP information i.e., RNR IE which is found in the legacy 2.4/5 GHz scan
results. When a scan request with all supported channel list is enqueued
to the firmware, then based on WMI_SCAN_CHAN_FLAG_SCAN_ONLY_IF_RNR_FOUND
scan channel flag, firmware will scan only those 6 GHz channels for which
RNR IEs are found in the legacy scan results.
In the proposed design, based on NL80211_SCAN_FLAG_COLOCATED_6GHZ scan
flag, driver will set the WMI_SCAN_CHAN_FLAG_SCAN_ONLY_IF_RNR_FOUND flag
for non-PSC channels. Since there is high probability to find 6 GHz APs
on PSC channels, these channels are always scanned. Only non-PSC channels
are selectively scanned based on cached RNR information from the legacy
scan results.
If NL80211_SCAN_FLAG_COLOCATED_6GHZ is not set in the scan flags,
then scan will happen on all supported channels (default behavior).
With these optimizations, scan time is improved by 1.5-1.8 seconds on
WCN6750. Similar savings have been observed on WCN6855.

TI CPSW uses of_platform_* functions which are declared in of_platform.h.
of_platform.h gets implicitly included by of_device.h, but that is going
to be removed soon. Nothing else depends on of_device.h so it can be
dropped. of_platform.h also implicitly includes platform_device.h, so
add an explicit include for it, too.

With Eric's ref tracker, syzbot finally found a repro for
use-after-free in tcp_write_timer_handler() by kernel TCP
sockets. [0]
If SMC creates a kernel socket in __smc_create(), the kernel
socket is supposed to be freed in smc_clcsock_release() by
calling sock_release() when we close() the parent SMC socket.
However, at the end of smc_clcsock_release(), the kernel
socket's sk_state might not be TCP_CLOSE. This means that
we have not called inet_csk_destroy_sock() in __tcp_close()
and have not stopped the TCP timers.
The kernel socket's TCP timers can be fired later, so we
need to hold a refcnt for net as we do for MPTCP subflows
in mptcp_subflow_create_socket().
